Experience Tasca

The name TASCA comes from the term in Portugal for a small neighborhood eatery frequented by locals, with a menu consisting of homemade daily dishes from local seasonal ingredients.

The name encompasses both our boutique space & menu concept, highlighting farm fresh ingredients from local purveyors for use in an elevated take on Portuguese & Spanish cuisine.

Our Story

As the first-generation in his family born in the U.S., our owner, Sergio Moutela, grew up in a Portuguese household in Newark and neighboring Elizabeth, NJ, surrounded by a vibrant Portuguese community, and of course, the food & wine culture that came with it.

Partnering with all-star chef, Robert Santello, previously of Heirloom Kitchen, Alta NYC & Pascal & Sabine, there is no lack of passion, talent or creativity when it comes to modern Iberian inspired dishes to downtown Montclair, NJ.

“Tasca Bistro's dishes are a masterpiece, with fresh and flavorful ingredients that transport you to the Iberian Peninsula.”
